Plays and Poetry

This is an example of our typesetting work on plays and poetry, specifically The New Oxford Shakespeare: Modern Critical Edition: The Complete Works, edited by Gary Taylor, John Jowett, Terri Bourus and Gabriel Egan.

Marginal notes, line numbers and footnotes make most plays or poetry texts have a complex page make-up. This can be more complicated when looking at either parallel pages of translation or hand-written notes. The importance of lining up the marginal notes alongside the correct line of the play is paramount.
